Christian Joy

It is evident that sometimes when we are writing about certain things, for instance Christian Joy we are tested with those very things we talk about with great confidence.  Joy within a life especially a Christian life is an attribute that most any of us desire and need.  Joy is sometimes one of the hardest emotions to show if we are having problems that perplex our soul.  I for one have grown into a state that if I am troubled and cannot produce the joy that I need in front of others...I perfer to be alone.  I do not want others to see me discouraged as I have a tendency to show my feeling at times.  This is one of the many aspects of my Christian Thinking Thoughts that I have had to work on through my life.  I had rather not talk about these kinds of things to others as I once did.  I want them to see the Joyful side not the down times.  I think one of the reasons is simply because most humans have enough burdens to carry of their own and I do not want to be troublesome to others. I find it hard to share my secret discouragements and do not want others to see a weakness in me.  Of course, these are not weaknesses, we all have times of discouragement and times when we had rather be alone to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, as the scripture state.

I have worked with my inner self through the years in my quest for Christian Joy so that I do not show my feelings when they are not full of Joy or Enthusiasm, as I used to do.  It was a learning process and I had to learn that it doesn't matter how we hurt, no one has to know.  I read the book by Norman Vincent Peal that stated; to feel better, practice joy.  One of the scriptures given was "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full" (John 12:11).  So you see Jesus' words which indicates He wishes us a joyful life, full of His blessing.  If we have Joy, it will rub off on others, if we have Enthusiasm, people will notice and it makes them want to have the same kind of disposition.  It is a bit profound and staggering to think but if we think joyful thoughts in any situation, we can find a peace that whatever it is we are going through will come out to our advantage in some way as an end result.  I know it is almost impossible to have joy when we lose someone we love by death....I have also been told that sometimes it is easier to lose someone by death than it is to lose them and they leave us.  I can see the point but I believe if someone leaves us on this earth; it has to be to our advantage in some way, we later find out.

What I do believe is most important when we have no control over situations which saps our Joy and Enthusiasm; we must turn it over to the One who can heal and bring our Joy back to us, full and stronger than before.  It is hard to let go of hurts, disappointments and failures but if we are living a Christian life, we are in a position to ask for help from the Almighty; " The Lord is neigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit". (Psalms 34: 18 KJV) In another scripture it says:  "For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning".(Psalms 30: 5 KJV).

In another scripture it also states that the Joy of the Lord is your strength. In ending this post let me share with you something that I read long ago and is most important in any life, it will sustain us when it seems we do not have any Joy left and that is this:

"The kind of living that makes life good is as exact as a science, and not something that you muddle through without rules.  Life responds to certain precise methods and procedures.  Your life can be either a hit or a miss, empty or full, depending upon how you think and act.  The enthusiast knows and draws upon valid resources.  He plays it cool and straight.  Such a person believes there is nothing in life so difficult that it can't be overcome; that faith can indeed move mountains.  It can change people.  It can change the world.  It can help you survive all the great storms in your life.   However, Joy and Enthusiasm are qualities that must be affirmed and reaffirmed; practiced and repracticed".

The latter paragraph came from a book by Dr. Norman Vincent Peal.  These are powerful words and very true, it makes me sure that I will keep moving forward in my endeavor to find full Joy no matter what my circumstances are.  Thank you for reading and I truly hope you find something worth keeping.

Christian Thinking-Thoughts

Let's go back to Christian Thinking - Thoughts.  If we are a Christian, we must guard our thought to positive things and situations so that our lives will produce positive results.  We cannot live in this world without negative situations we have to deal with, but we can, if we choose, not dwell on the negative.  From experience I can tell you that if you are constantly dwelling on the negative, it will get bigger than it is and worse than it is and you will be almost insane before it is resolved if you allow it.  If we choose to remember that we can control our thoughts, we can protect our thoughts from growing much worse than they really are and not only that but beat the force of whatever it with the scripture that says:

Isaiah 40: 28-29 KJV;  Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of this understanding.  He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Verse 31:  But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.

Now this is all the encouragement you need when you have something that you can't seem to handle so thinking negatively isn't going to help you a bit...you have got to stand on His promises and believe and have faith and WATCH YOUR THOUGHTS.... and in so Change your thoughts and change your life.

I think what happens to us, is that we forget to think about what we are thinking about.  Think about that!  If we need something from God, we should pray for that need and then let it go and stop thinking about what if.....He doesn't answer our prayer or what if...the worse happens.  I know this is not an easy task but as I have aged some, I have learned that I can't change somethings no matter how much I would like to.  If I have taken it to Him and He doesn't fix it; there is nothing I can do unless He provides me another way to take care of it.  He doesn't always fix things, but what He does send alternatives and we have to know that the worse thing in life is death.....we can make it through anything else with the help of our Father in Heaven.  I hope you believe that.  You may get to the point in your life that you feel like you had almost rather be dead and I know that some trials, especially those we do not create, are almost unbearable. But I also know that we can survive these things better if we change our thoughts and our thinking to God's will be done; it's in His hands, He knows all of the circumstances (and you probably do not) and only He can fix somthings. Even as hard as this is..and let it go, we will become stronger and more capable of handling the next situation with added power to endure with patience as the scripture states. Read verse 31 above again.

When we are searching for truths we must remember our Christian Prayer  and not forget that we should pray continually and not just when we need something. I am reminded of this beautiful scripture which tells us the following about out thoughts:

Phillippians 4: 7-8  KJV:  "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds(thoughts) through Christ Jesus.  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoevery things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things".  There is nothing left for me to say after that scripture about Christian Thinking and Thoughts.  God Bless!

Christian Prayer

In our world of everyday life it is certain that we need a higher power to help us manage the chaos of life and I know nothing greater than Christian Prayer.  It seems there are struggles in our private world and our outside world as well with people losing their jobs here and there and not being able to find one and living on unemployment benefits which is not enough; it is distressing for all.  When Christians Pray, things begin to change and life becomes better.

If you do not know about prayer, let me give you some insight to what it is about and how it works.  Our Lord taught us to pray in the scripture when He gave us the Lord's prayer and it can be found in Matthew 6: 9-13...and it goes like this:  Our Father, who art in heaven; Hallowed be though name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day, our daily bread.  And forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the pwoer, and the glory, forever. Amen.  KJV.  In the 33 verse it say this:  "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you".  This is talking about the material needs of life and sometimes the things we put before our God.  This should be very person's Christian Prayer.

Jesus, himself set an example for us, if you remember he went to the garden to pray before he was to be hung and nailed to the cross...he prayed, Father not my will, but thine be done.  That is not always an easy prayer to pray for anyone, but especially if we were to be put to death.

Let me say the first step in praying if you have never prayed before is a prayer of repentance and it can be something like this:  Father, be merciful to me a sinner and I believe that you died to heal me of my sins and wash them white as snow.  I believe on your name and that you rose from the dead to set my soul free.  I accept your redemption and praise you for loving me.   I know you will find the words if you have never because if you are seeking God, He is calling you and He will give you what you need, if you ask and seek in Prayer.

In Luke 11:9- Jesus was teaching to pray and he said: And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Verse 10:  For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  God's Plan for you is that you have good things in you life and it is not His will for us to suffer, usually we suffer from our own mistakes.

In Psalms 66:18-  If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.  So when we go to Him, we must have the right spirit and have faith that He will hear our prayer and meet our need.  If we are seeking God we must not have malice in our heart we must go to Him with clean hands and a pure heart.

Sometimes we pray for things we do not need and He has not promised us that, but the things we need because He states in the scripture that He knows the things we have need of and that those things ye shall have.  Have you ever seen your money get low and you are hurting financially and all of sudden you made it through the situation without much struggle?  Praise the Lord, I have many times.  He is there for us to go to Him, not only when we are in need, but we should go to Him daily....kind of what we call preventive prayer, if you will..... If we go to Him daily and thank Him for what He has already done; praising Him...He will see our sincere love for Him and know that we need Him on a daily basis, not just when we are in trouble.  Usually this come by our efforts in our struggle for Spiritual Growth

Sometimes we have to go to Him over and over because we are always putting our foot in our mouth about something we should not.  I love some of David's prayers and here is one of them:  Psalms: 139: 23-24- Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way of everlasting.  Now this is Christian Prayer.

Christian Thinking

Christian Ways

The first thing I want to say is that I am an a minister or someone who preaches and I do not in any way try to push Christian Thinking and actions upon anyone who isn't seeking. There are lots of ways to describe who or what a Christian is and how they think, or let's say how they should think and act.  Christian Thinking  is "good" things, not bad things.  I would like to think that there are more "Christians" in the America that we have known for a very long time, than some skeptics think there are.  With all due respect for his office and in reaction to the President who said that "we do not consider ourselves a Christian Nation".  I am sorry, but I do believe that we still do and that as always God has a plan.  In any form of worship, there is some kind of respected "being" that is praised and adored.

If you are reading this and you don't know exactly what to do to become a Christian and be a Christian Thinking person...let me tell you what I know and what is believable.  One first thing is that we must become as little children, written in the Bible; Ma 18:3.  The Bible was written by holy men, anointed by the Holy Spirit and if you read it and research it, you can find that it is easy to believe; therefore, I will tell you what it says about being saved and being a Christian.

Salvation is of the Lord.  Jon 2:9  Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and Tho shalt be saved.  Ac: 16:31.  Salvation is a gift, not a reward and thus in Ephesians 2: 8,9 it says the following:  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. Salvation made simple is something we are all seeking and it is simple, when we believe in the one who died to make it simple for us.

Those are powerful scriptures and so good.  So if you are seeking becoming a Christian and pocessing a Christian Thinking and Actions; there you have it.  Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.  For by grace are ye saved through "Faith".  You must have faith to believe that Jesus is up there and looking down upon you and if you doubt, it will not come.  Salvation is for those who desire it but one must be drawn of God and if you are thinking about it....He is speaking to your soul...by way of letting you have a desire for something greater than what you have.  Something to help you clean up your act, elevate your spirit and give you a moral perception of life.  When we believe on the Lord, we must at moment ask His forgiveness of our sins, as that is why He died on the cross.

There is a nature we are born with, it is not something we have control over until we reach accountability and that is when we see the need to repent of our "Adamic" nature...Adam sinned and passed that sin on to us if you read Genesis.  When we repent of our sins, we are then forgiven, made whole, made righteous, made moral, made clean.  There are a lot of people who are just good people who have never entered a Church, and may have never uttered a prayer...those people seem to be the hardest people to understand that it takes asking for forgiveness of the sins we are born with.  They don't have the ultimate desires necessarily that some unsaved people do, so it is not as easy for them to see the need to repent.  The scripture tells us that we must repent.

Christian Thinking and believing means that we have transferred our thoughts to those things that are elevating to our character.  We become more honorable, we have more ethical values, we are fair to others and about everything in life.  A Christian life takes up prayer for the sick, prayer with thanksgiving, prayer for those who are hungry, prayer for the evil and prayer for the righteousness of our land to spread.  If we truly want to be full of the spirit of truth we will seek daily for spiritual growth for our soul.

When we seek Him, we are taking steps to improve our daily walk with Him and it gives us a way of transforming the everyday battles into bearable triumphs.  Our Christian Thinking gives us actions to make life more beautiful.
